Comments on: The Audio-GD NFB-7 DAC

I’ve spent over one year listening to the NFB-7 now. I am amazed of the detail of information i hear on good recordings. This DAC is one costly proposition as it has forced me to upgrade my system inorder to do it proper justice. I just upgarded to a pre – power combo from an intergrated & the little details in recordings have become more clearer. Speakers are next after I save some money. These were discontinued (which was a great surprise to me) but just saw on Audio GD website that some limited numbers have been produced and are available.

DAC technology keeps getting better& DAC’s with new features are comming out every second month but not going to upgade from this for a long time.

Great review! I’ve owned their now-discontinued DAC-19 DSP and C-2 headphone amp for just over a year now and had the same results as you. Digital audio has never sounded better in my system. Highly recommended.

Great sound for less money indeed, be prepared for tradeoff to wait long long long… time though! It is well worth the wait IMHO. Superb layering of music left me craving for more.
Customer service isn’t that well received though over the past year since the NFBs are implemented. Hopefully they will pick up again from some form of a let down by some of their staff services!

Audio-GD’s website currently has the status of the NFB-7 DAC as “Waiting Customers Feedback”, along with the other Sabre32 DACs that Kingwa designed. Thanks for ordering one Punit as I’m sure increased orders would equate to him reinstating the product line.

I own the NFB-11 (DAC/Head amp) since a few months and cannot but agree on the sound quality
you describe so eloquently. The NFB-11 is a lowcost version (I payed only 280$) based on the same Sabre chip.The device literally draws you into the recording.Low noise and distortion level combined with a very detailed,smooth rendition of the musical content turns it to my opinion into a superbuy!

nice review
I have a weak spot for GD -Audio, not that i have a unit of them ( except their pws) my because of their philosophy to bring best sound for the $ and their trend setting customer orientation . They have a very nice DIY PWS board , a steal for their discrete design
